Speaking of nostalgia, the sudden death of pop superstar Whitney Houston was the number one topic of conversation among my friends and family this weekend. While flipping through my 45′s to find my vintage Glenn Campbell “Rhinestone Cowboy,” I came across four Whitney 45′s … “So Emotional” (1987), “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” (1987), “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” (1987) and “One Moment in Time,” from the 1988 Summer Olympics Album. I was just a few years out of college at that time, and I remember the immediate impact she had on the music scene. Her songs – especially “I Will Always Love You” – have, and will continue, to hold a special place in my heart. Nice tribute to Whitney by Jennifer Hudson at tonight’s Grammys.
