It’s true. La Roux pulled the plug yesterday on its 2012 Coachella Music and Arts Festival performance, posting this statement on its website:
La Roux regretfully announce that they will not be able to play at this year’s Coachella festival due to recording commitments.
Elly Jackson said “I’m gutted that we cannot play at my favourite festival. The show we played there in 2010 was one of the best I’ve ever done. Things are progressing well with the new record but I just don’t have the time to finish it AND prepare a new set for Coachella. If they’ll have us back we’d love to see you there.”
The electro-pop, 80s-synth-loving duo played a Friday night set in the Gobi tent in 2010.
Did “Bulletproof ” really come out that long ago? I guess it is time for that new record.
